WHAT IS ACTION?

Read about the history of ACTION

Agricultural Crime Technology Information and Operations Network

ACTION IS…The acronym for a new concept in multi-agency cooperation for the protection of agricultural life and property. It supplements and enforces the work of the Rural Crime Prevention Program in the San Joaquin Valley.

ACTION DOES…Create positive technological, strategic, and financial support to improve the detection, arrest, prosecution and punishment systems for agriculturally related crimes committed in the rural areas of the San Joaquin Valley.

ACTION WILL…Serve agricultural businesses and property owners. The program embraces unified cross-agency cooperation between the Agricultural Commissioners Offices, District Attorney Offices and Sheriff’s Departments in the counties of Kern, Kings, Fresno, Madera, Merced, Monterey, San Benito, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, Stanislaus and Tulare Counties. Expansion to include other agricultural counties is planned in the near future.

ACTION SUPPORTS…New technology. Farmers are accustomed to the benefits of “eye in the sky” GIS (Global Information Systems) for improved agricultural practices. These satellite supported systems, through ACTION, are being adapted to rural crime stake-outs and crime detection.
